Greetings
Asselema! My name is Namsoon Lee, Country Director of KOICA Office in Tunisia It is with a great pleasure that I welcome you to Tunisia.
Tunisia is a starting place of the Arab Spring in 2010 and it’s a symbolic model of democratization for neighboring countries. A small country with great minds. Tunisia is the first Arab and African country to abolish slavery in 1846. Moreover, it has touristic attractions represented by the beautiful natural scenery surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and historical sites containing the history of the ancient Carthage Empire.
KOICA Office in Tunisia has been working on cooperation projects that focuses primarily on governance for Tunisia's sustainable economic and social development. In particular, the Tunisian E-procurement System (TUNEPS) and E-people Project, which were carried out using Korea's outstanding e-government system as a role model, contributed greatly to strengthening transparency of Tunisian government and preventing corruption. It also acts as a bridge between the two countries by strengthening the capabilities of Tunisian civil servants through the Global Training Program (CIAT) and promoting friendly relations through the activities of overseas volunteers.
KOICA Office in Tunisia will continue to use an integrated approach across three dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social, and environmental) to successfully carry out our government's official development assistance and to promote economic and social development.
Thank you.
Country Director of KOICA Tunisia Office Namsoon Lee
