KOICA Tunisia office will continue to support the TUNEPS system through a phase 2 project, 2019-2022 TUNEPS 2: Tunisian E-Procurement System Improvement. A team of experts has been dispatched between 6th January – 17th January 2020 to launch and conduct the baseline survey of the project. The experts will take this opportunity to understand the current situation to provide system consultation in virtualization, certification and mobile app/web development.
In 2011-2013, KOICA supported Tunisia to redesign its procurement process and to build a pilot system based on KONEPS, a Korean E-procurement system. Since the end of the project, the Tunisian government has mandated the use of TUNEPS in public procurement to central government in 2018 and local government in 2019, which led to the increasing need for expansion and improvement of the system. As a means to enhance transparency and accountability of the Tunisian government in public procurement, TUNEPS 2 aims to generalize the system to support its expansion of users and improve the operation of the existing e-procurement system.
