Overview
KOICA's fellowship program (CIAT) is Korea's leading human resources development (HRD) training program where KOICA invites civil officials, engineers, researchers, and policy makers in developing countries who will lead economic and social growth of their countries and provides capacity building trainings focusing on sharing Korea's experience and technology for development.
KOICA Global Fellowship Program CIAT (Capacity Improvement & Advancement for Tomorrow)
KOICA launched the fellowship program "CIAT" with an aim to support leaders of developing countires in different areas to bring the economic and social growth of their countries.
CIAT stands for "Capacity Improvement & Advancement for Tomorrow", meaning individual's capacity development for a better future, and moreover the advancement of their organizations and policies as well.
History
1963Started the fellowship program with the financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It wass the first type of support that Korea has provided to its partner countries.
1965Started running the program with the Korean government's budget
1999Opened International Cooperation Center (ICC) (Yeomgok-dong, Seoul)
2008Relocated ICC when a new KOICA headquarter was built
2012Launched the fellowship program with the name 'CIAT'

How to requestfor Fellowship Program (CIAT scholarship)
Tanzania Office welcomes that you are taking into consideration to apply for KOICA Fellowship Program. Also known as the Capacity Improvement & Advancement for Tomorrow (CIAT) scholarship, CIAT aims to share development experience and know-hows with the public officials from partner countries.
To better serve your needs and request, we would like to encourage you to take note of the following steps when you wish to apply for fellowship program through KOICA Tanzania Office.

Step 1.
Identify program
Check the Ministry of Finance website, and as additional reference, KOICA Tanzania website or Facebook page for relevant information on the program. Please carefully check the qualification required and conditions of the training course.
Step 2.
Complete the application form
Download and fill up the application form, either type or hand written (preferably in English)
Documents required for submission:
Legible copy of passport
Official nomination letter from Ministry of Finance
Medical report from certified doctor
Copy of university degree
Copy of curriculum vitae
* KOICA Tanzania Office and Ministry of Finance upload necessary forms on their websites when new fellowship program is open for application.
Step 3.
Submit application form
Submit the completed application form to Ministry of Finance with all required documents
Step 4.
Review application form
Once all applications are submitted through Ministry of Finance, KOICA Tanzania Office will initially review the qualification of the applicants according to its selection criteria
Step 5.
Notify accepted participants
After applications are approved, KOICA Tanzania Office will report back to the accepted participants
