Humanitarian Assistance
Humanitarian Assistance aims to save lives, alleviate suffering, promote dignity, prevent risks and strengthen response during and in the aftermath of man-made and/or natural disasters. It also supports the prevention and preparedness for the occurrence of such emergencies.
Cash or In-Kind Contribution
KOICA provides cash or emergency relief items (e.g. tents, blankets, etc.) to support those in need during and in the aftermath of man-made and/or natural disasters, based on the decision made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Deployment of the Korea Disaster Relief Team (KDRT)
KDRT is the official overseas emergency relief team of the South Korean government, which aims to mitigate and recover damage, rescue lives and/or provide medical relief assistance.
Capacity Building and Preparedness Activities
As the KDRT secretariat, KOICA provides capacity building trainings for KDRT members and ensures that equipment is ready for deployment.
Public-Private Partnership for Humanitarian Assistance
KOICA provides financial supporting and capacity building for NGOs, carrying out humanitarian assistance projects through partnership agreements.
