World Friends Korea (WFK)
World Friends Korea (WFK) dispatches volunteers in different areas such as education, vocational training, agriculture and fisheries, health, sanitation and rural development in order to promote friendly and cooperative relationship and mutual exchanges between Korea and developing countries and to support their economic and social growth.
The KOICA Overseas Volunteer Program dispatches volunteers to more than 40 developing countries around the world, sharing Korea's development experiences with partner countries to support their economic and social growth. KOICA dispatches volunteers in 38 professional fields in which Korea possesses strengths, including public administration, education, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, health, industrial energy and international development.
Volunteers who return to Korea upon completion of volunteer activities share their knowledge, experiences, and skills gained, including foreign language skills. Many continue to participate in development projects, working for international development cooperation agencies including KOICA, NGO/NPOs, and international organizations.
World Friends Korea
In 2009, the government launched World Friends Korea, integrating numerous overseas volunteer programs that were previously operated by different ministries including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KOICA Volunteer Group/Consulting Group), Ministry of Science and ICT (IT Volunteer Group, Science Technology Support Group), Ministry of Education (PAS/KUCSS Youth Volunteer Group), Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (NIPA Consulting Group), and the Ministry of Health and Welfare (Korean Oriental Medicine Overseas Medical Volunteer Group). Currently, World Friends Korea volunteers are in many developing countries around the world with the vision of prosperity for all through sharing and learning.

WFK KOICA - Volunteers
Volunteers work in government agencies of developing countries, in 30 different professional areas including public administration, education, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, technology, environment, and energy (1 to 2 years/possible one-year extension).
WFK KOICA - NGO Volunteers
Volunteers are dispatched to project sites of NGOs. KOICA collaborates with NGOs to send volunteers and contribute to the economic and social development of partner countries.
WFK KOICA - UNV Youth University Volunteer Program
Young Koreans are dispatched to field offices of UN agencies and instruments. The program is designed to help volunteers gain experience abroad and in international activities, thereby growing as global leaders and advancing their career paths in the field of development cooperation.
WFK KOICA - Youth Volunteer Program
KOICA works with leading private organizations to dispatch talented youths to their project sites in the areas of climate, governance, and education for the vulnerable. The program contributes to the growth of Korea's young people as global citizens and development in partner countries.
WFK Youth Volunteers (KUCSS)
This program allows Korean college students to better understand partner countries and develop humanitarian values. Students volunteer during school breaks and work in teams to provide educational services to partner country citizens, carry out other volunteer activities, and engage in cultural exchange.
WFK Youth Volunteers (PAS)
The Pacific Asia Society is an incorporation association registered under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. PAS aims to nurture young people as future global leaders and organize volunteer activities to develop friendships and mutual exchanges with neighboring countries.
