Project Activities
The first project is 'The Modification of Hue City’s Master Plan 2030 and Vision 2050’. For the promotion of Thua Thien Hue Province to a centrally-run city, information on Hue City, the core city of Thua Thien Hue Province, was needed. Information such as the future function of the city, the size of the area, and the expected population by 2030, was estimated and the vision for the city and its future by 2050 was presented. In May 2014, as a result of these efforts, the Approval for Adjustments to General Planning for Hue City to 2030 and Vision to 2050 (Decision No.649-QD/TTg) was issued from the prime minister of Vietnam.
The second project is ‘The Detailed Planning and a Pilot Project for the Huong Riverside Development in Hue City'. In accordance with the decision of the prime minister, a detailed plan necessary for the realization of ‘The Modification of Hue City's Master Plan 2030 and Vision 2050’ was established. This second project is a pilot project that materializes the contents of the plan and design. Through this project, a management basis has been established (licensing completed) for the riverside of Huong, which is expected to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the riverside walk trail that can be used freely by anyone, including children, teenagers, and the disabled, was installed after collecting the opinions of citizens.
As the third project, 'The Project for Hue Culture and Tourism Smart City Development’ was implemented. It includes support for developing a culture and tourism smart city based on prearranged plans, such as the plan for tourism activation in the central region of Vietnam, Hue City’s Master Plan 2030 and Vision 2050, and detailed planning for the Huong riverside development. A complex cultural space including a digital museum and observatory will be remodeled using vacant facilities. It is expected to present a blueprint for revitalizing local tourism with a focus on smart cultural tourism. It will also provide a place for exhibitions, cultural experiences, and leisure as well as contribute to the formation of a new landmark in the center of Hue City.
